Our DHS Rowing Club boys attended the VLC Sprint Regatta at Victoria Lake in Germiston.
The Boys went out to dinner with the Durban Rowing Club rowers in Germiston on the Saturday night. On the Sunday competed in the Men’s C division, U16 coxed quad (4 boys in a sculling row boat with 1 boy steering and calling commands) as well as an Men’s C division double (school boys VS Adults).  It was a challenging and productive event with the Men’s C division Double, Setjhaba Mathuse and Danken Ellis, placing 6th with a time of 5:17:92 and the Men’s C division U16 Quad, Londa Zungu, Luyanda Koboka, Ayanda Yengwa, Awande Ndlovu and Liam Gordon (COX) also placing 6th with a time of 4:07:53.
All in all Sunday was a good day and the boys learnt a lot from their experience. They will be able to test out their new training techniques on Monday 29 January at their rowing practices and future races.
Well done, Gentlemen!
