We are delighted that the long-awaited construction of the DHS AstroTurf on the Sanford Field is finally a reality!
The GREAT NEWS was confirmed at a ground breaking ceremony on the site for the new Astro. Attended by Mr D Judge (Trustee and Old Boy), Mr Pinheiro (Head Master), Ms Joan Schmidt (Head Mistress of Maris Stella), Neil Lamble (Old Boy and Class of 1973), Craig Meekers (Managing Director of Trellidor), Trevor Martin (Old Boy and Class of 1990) and representatives from both DHS and Maris Stella. We welcome Maris Stella and thank them for becoming a partner with School in the AstroTurf.
A big thank you goes to Craig Meekers and Peter Rawson from Trellidor for their very generous contribution and sponsorship toward the Astro.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Neil Lamble, who cycled from DHS to Cape Town in aid of raising funds for the Astro Turf. During Neil’s cycle he managed to raise R270 000.00.
Exciting times ahead for both DHS and Maris Stella Hockey.
