Mr Stephen Saad (Class of 81), a truly remarkable DHS Old Boy, was honoured at a special ceremony held at School on Friday 18 March when Founders Room was renamed as The Stephen Saad Room.
Mr Saad is one of South Africa’s most successful businessmen and we are proud to claim him as an Old Boy. However, the reason the room has been named after him is because of the incredible support that Stephen has shown for DHS over the years. His belief in our School has never faltered and for this we will always be extremely grateful.
The evening, which was held the night before the first Rugby fixture of the season against Kearsney College, also allowed the opportunity for Old Boys, Parents and Staff to listen to our new Head Rugby Coach, Mr Peter Engledow’s vision for DHS Rugby.
The highlight of the evening, however, was the handing out of the jerseys to our 1st XV boys by Mr Saad. A truly special moment as Stephen also played for the 1st XV when he was at DHS himself.
Thank you for all that you do for School, Mr Saad. We are incredibly proud to be able to honour you with the renaming of the iconic Founders Room.
