Grease @ DHS

Durban High School is delighted to be presenting a musical favourite, “Grease”.

Based in the 50s and named after the 1950s United States working-class youth subculture known as greasers, “Grease” is set in 1959 at the fictional Rydell High School.

The musical follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of peer pressure and love, as well as love-struck Danny and girl-next-door, Sandy, in a thrilling injection of pure fun with vibrant songs such as “Greased Lightning”, “Summer Nights”, “We Go Together”, to name just a few.

With a vibrant cast of 55 learners, including girls from 12 neighbouring schools, “Grease” features 32 DHS Learners ranging from Grade 8 to 12. The lead role of Danny is played by Grade 11 student Unaye Mndau, and Sandla Twenani plays the role of Kenickie, Danny’s right-hand man and best friend.

It promises to delight audiences young and old.

The production will run from Tuesday 25 July to Sunday 30 July 2023 in the DC Thompson Hall. Tickets are available online via Webtickets.

Ticket Options:
Tickets at Tables – Barnyard style, bring your own food and drink) – R120 per person for a seat at the table.

We look forward to our first musical production in years with great excitement.
